Ed Holub Memorial
Ed Holub, a founding member of SFI, passed away November 16, 2009 after a very courageous battle with cancer. Ed was instrumental in the formation of SFI and a guiding principal. Ed brought to the company over thirty years experience in the broad spectrum of aerospace, rail, shipping and general asset based finance. Ed lives in the hearts and minds of his partners and all of the SFI people and his experience and counsel over many years continues to help guide us today.
Ed had a long and storied career in aerospace and finance. Prior to the formation of SFI, Ed was Managing Director of CIT and Newcourt's Aerospace Advisory Group, where he managed the origination, structuring, placement and negotiation of financing for the group's aerospace clients. Before joining Newcourt/CIT, Ed held senior positions as Vice President and Group Head - Aerospace Structured Finance at Bombardier, Inc.; Founding Partner - Aerospace, of HPF Associates; First Vice-President and Co-Head Aerospace Investment Banking at E.F. Hutton; and Assistant Treasurer-Tax and Corporate Finance at Pan American World Airways. Ed was highly educated with a BBA, magna cum laude, from Pace University in New York, and was a Certified Management Accountant. Throughout his career, Ed managed public and private financings for a wide range of international clients, including public and private securitizations and other asset backed lending as well as single investor, leveraged and cross border leases.
Ed touched many peoples lives, both within and outside the industries he worked in. For all those that knew Ed Holub, he is and will always be missed.
